The 6th of June marked 2022 National Eyecare Day in China and the successful launch of a webinar on “Using transcription, cells and computation to analyze visual performance and abnormality”. The webinar was the first session of a series of online seminars celebrating “National Science and Technology Workers’ Day” created by the Chinese Neuroscience Society. The webinar series are sponsored by the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute.
The first session attracted several thousand online viewers and Investigators Jiayi Zhang from Fudan University and Wei Li from The National Eye Institute (NEI) presided over the meeting. Several neuroscientists from universities and institutes in China and abroad delivered engaging presentations on the roles of transcriptomics, connectomics and computational neurobiology in visual analysis and the occurrence mechanism of visual abnormalities, as well as the latest progress in the field.
The second and third webinars, themed “Iron metabolism and latest research on neurodegenerative diseases” and “Mechanism research of abnormal consciousness” will be held in July and August 2022 respectively.
